Hand-carved Blackened Bronze Cuff

Hand-carved Blackened Bronze Cuff

This bracelet is curved on the inside for comfort. Brushed bronze is subdued yet looks warm against the skin. I have blackened the carvings to set the color of the bronze even more. This cuff looks great on both men and women.

Carnelian and Silver Shield Pendant

Carnelian and Silver Shield Pendant

The carnelian in this pendant is very vibrant and translucent. I’ve created the piece so light can pass through the stone. The stone appears to change depending on the light — sometimes it looks like it’s on fire, and sometimes it looks like a hot coal. There is a small cloud in the stone as well, which makes the stone look almost stormy — if not smoldering.

It reminds me of the Tucson sun at dips over the mountains at dusk – just between the light switching from golds, to reds, to violet. A fleeting, magical time of day.

This a shadow box hollow body pendant using a hand-fabricated process. The pendant is one-of-a-kind. I have been having fun lately working with the almond/shield shape. The shape is very appealing on the wearer. It may be worn with a turtleneck, or a low-cut blouse or dress.

Carnelian is a good first (root) and second (sacral) chakra energizer – which means it is good for vitality, abundance, and libido. It is also said to help with creativity and is sometimes called “the artist’s stone”.

Triple Goddess Lapis Shield Pendant

Triple Goddess Lapis Shield Pendant

Lapis is truly a stone for goddesses. It’s deep blue color has made it a favorite gem going back to Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. Up until the mid 1800s, ground lapis was used as a very expensive and brilliant pigment for oil and egg tempura paintings. Ancient Egyptians believed blue was the color of life because of the life-giving properties of water and the Nile, and they used lapis in glazes for statues, as paint for Kings’ statues and sarcophagi, and for jewelry. The color blue in paintings of the Madonna during the Renaissance represented purity. It also is associated with the creative power of God. In the Hindu philosophy, blue is associated with the Vishuddha (5th) chakra and Ajna (6th) chakra, which both deal with the spiritual planes of existence.

When you wear lapis, you are carrying high energy with a long history.

This pendant is made of hand-hammered silver and lapis. The edges curve forward to reflect the lapis in the middle. It is one of its kind.

Enjoy!

Azurite Malachite Dangling Earrings

Azurite Malachite Dangling Earrings

It is rare to find stones like these, so I was so excited when I came across them. This particular set of stones comes from southern Arizona which is also a plus. (I like to buy locally when I can – and the southwest has great gems and minerals to chose from).

Azurite is a deep blue copper mineral, and so it is found in areas where there are copper deposits. Because azurite and malachite have a similar chemical composition, they can be found together, making a striking color combination of deep blue and bright green. (Wikipedia)

These earrings are hand-cut and hand-hammered. It is increasingly difficult to find stones like these, so I don’t know when I will be making my next pair.
