Reticulated Silver and Garnet Pendant
Reticulated silver is a process of heating sterling silver, which has a very small amount of copper in it, until the copper, which has a lower melting point than silver, becomes concentrated and liquifies. The silver forms a sort of skin around the copper, which creates random patterns on the surface of the metal. The patterns are random.
I’ve blackened the silver so that the texture of the surface is more dramatic. In the middle of the bead/pendant is a garnet set in a shadowbox design. The garnet is set so that light can pass through.
Entirely hand-fabricated (hand-crafted). One of a kind. 3/4″ diameter, 1/4 inch deep. Signed on the back.
