Come out and visit me at the beautiful Zen Mountain Gallery. I am honored to be giving live jewelry making demonstrations and to be showing my latest designs. I always love visiting Zen Mountain – it’s a really nice gallery with so much to see.
Rather than making a shadowbox pendant, I left this piece open. Brushed silver with an open center allows whatever necklace the wearer chooses to show through the piece.
Brushed silver with a hand-cut organic line that opens up to a shadowbox that shows the inner workings of the piece. Like a detail mirroring the mokume on the other side, the shape of the cut out swirls around a circle that opens to another shadowbox with copper inside.
The other side is hand-crafted copper and silver mokume with a contrasting turquoise set in a shadowbox. The color of the copper will deepen over time, making this an evolving piece.
Copper, silver, and turquoise reflect the beauty of the southwest.
Hand-crafted hollow form shadowbox. Approximately 1 inch wide by 1 1/4 inches tall by 1/4 inch deep. One-of-of-a-kind.

Faceted Smoky Topaz and Brushed Silver Slider Pendant
This hollow form pendant is made of hand-punched fine silver with fine silver overlay and Guadalupe Poppy Jasper.
Poppy Jasper gets it’s name from orbicular patterns resembling poppies. This piece has bursts of golds and green surrounded by reds and deep brown.
Gorgeous, deep color.
Overlay is a traditional Native American technique often found in Hopi and Navajo jewelry designs.
Guadalupe poppy jasper is from New Almaden, California. The mine it comes from is now closed and this variety of poppy jasper is considered extinct. This stone was mined at least 3o years ago. It is a collectible and only exists in private stashes. Very rare.
This piece is 2 1/2 inches long by 3/4 inches wide at the widest point and 1/4 inch deep. Absolutely one-of-kind hollow form piece, from the stone to the cut-out design on the front. Signed on the back ~ Matagi Sorensen.

Hand-Hammered Silver Disc Earring with Raw Copper and Garnet
Hanging silver disc earrings have a deep earthy quality due to the rawness of the hand-texturized process. The metals are left unpolished to further enhance their natural beauty. Over time, the copper will deepen in color. Each earring is one-of-a-kind due to their hand-crafted creation.
Modern, southwestern, elegant.
Approximately one inch diameter. Earring wires are sterling silver. Signed on the back.
