Mountain Dream ~ Married Metals Cuff

Married Metals Cuff

Hand-hammered cuff with a raised and textured copper and silver free-form band create this substantial married metals cuff. Inspired by the Red Rock mountain landscape where I grew up.

May be worn low on the wrist like a bangle, or higher up near the wrist bone.

Signed on the inside. This is a one-of-a-kind piece, entirely hand-crafted. Edges are rounded on the inner rim for a comfortable fit.

Married Metals Tie Clip

Married Metals Tie Clip

This piece is made of hand-hammered brushed copper and brushed silver. The metals pick up light with a soft glow. The design on this piece reminds me of the southwestern mountain landscape where I grew up.

The clip is 1 1/2 inches long by 1/4 inch wide. Signed on the back.

Married Metals Cufflinks

Married Metals Cufflinks

These cufflinks are a shadowbox hollow form made of fine silver and copper. Brushed silver has a subtle sheen that picks up the warmth of the copper. Hand-hammereing allows for evidence of the process in making these.

Traditionally, shadowbox jewelry is made with stones like turquoise. Here, I’ve used hammered married metals as the the centerpiece to the shadowbox rather than stones.

Hand-fabricated (made by hand). Due to the nature of the process, no two pieces are alike.

Sun, Moon, and Triple Goddess Earrings

Sun, Moon, and Triple Goddess

Hand hammered copper and silver married metals and turquoise hanging earrings. The texture of these earrings shimmer in the light. The warmth of copper and the coolness of silver combine to set off three small turquoise stones in each earring.

Reminds me of the sun and the moon – or the Red Rocks of Sedona at twilight – blue sky (almost turquoise and periwinkle), warm earth, cool air. One of my favorite places to be at dusk! Magical.

Entirely hand-fabricated (hand made). No two earrings are alike. 3 inches long, 1/2 inch wide. Silver wire. Signed “Matagi Sorensen” on the back of each earring.

Day and Night Meet Earth

Day and Night Meet Earth

These married metal earrings are made of copper, silver, and azurite mixed with malachite.

The rawness of these earrings accentuates the hand-hewn process of their creation. Malachite and azurite stone look like a snapshot of earth from space, while copper and silver symbolize the sun and moon.

Primitive!

Approximately 1 and 3/4 inches long by 1/2 an inch wide. Silver earring wires.

Married Metals and Turquoise Dangling Earrings

Dangling Married Metals and Turquoise Earrings

These earrings are made of hand-hammered copper and silver and set with turquoise. They are approximately three inches long and about half an inch wide. The texture on the surface creates the effect of small waves catching light.

The ripples in the metal vary with each earring due to the hand-hammered process.

Silver and copper with turquoise is a southwestern favorite that carries over into any setting – from east coast to far east!
