Mokume and Shadowbox Double-Sided Pendant
mokume filligris pendantTwo different styles in one hollow form pendant.
Brushed silver with a hand-cut organic line that opens up to a shadowbox that shows the inner workings of the piece. Like a detail mirroring the mokume on the other side, the shape of the cut out swirls around a circle that opens to another shadowbox with copper inside.
The other side is hand-crafted copper and silver mokume with a contrasting turquoise set in a shadowbox. The color of the copper will deepen over time, making this an evolving piece.
Hand-crafted hollow form shadowbox. Approximately 1 inch wide by 1 1/4 inches tall by 1/4 inch deep. One-of-of-a-kind.
This hollow form pendant is made of hand-punched fine silver with fine silver overlay and Guadalupe Poppy Jasper.
Poppy Jasper gets it’s name from orbicular patterns resembling poppies. This piece has bursts of golds and green surrounded by reds and deep brown.
Gorgeous, deep color.
Overlay is a traditional Native American technique often found in Hopi and Navajo jewelry designs.
Guadalupe poppy jasper is from New Almaden, California. The mine it comes from is now closed and this variety of poppy jasper is considered extinct. This stone was mined at least 3o years ago. It is a collectible and only exists in private stashes. Very rare.
This piece is 2 1/2 inches long by 3/4 inches wide at the widest point and 1/4 inch deep. Absolutely one-of-kind hollow form piece, from the stone to the cut-out design on the front. Signed on the back ~ Matagi Sorensen.
Azurite and Silver Overlay Shadowbox Pendant
Bright blue and deep blue tops this polished and matte silver shadowbox overlay hollow form pendant.
Modern feminine smooth line and fluid shape.
Hand-carved silver. One-of-a-kind hand-crafted piece. Approximately 2 1/2 inches long, 3/4 inch wide, 1/4 inch deep. Signed on the back.
Double-Sided Silver Disc Slider Pendant with Filigree
This two-sided pendant may be worn with the shadowbox side showing or the solid side showing. Handcut design opens up to show the inner workings of the pendant, giving hints to the process of the piece.
Wear the shadowbox side for a more organic feel, or the solid side for a more clean look.
Entirely handcrafted. One inch diameter, 1/4 inch deep. Signed.
Ultra-Mod Raw Copper and Silver Bowl Earrings
Hand-hammered miniature polished silver bowls nest in hand-hammered heated and polished copper bowls. The back of the copper and the edges are left unpolished, and the color will deepen over time. The circular shapes coupled with the hand-hammered natural quality of the silver and copper bowls give the earrings a “mod” look with a raw, organic nuance.
Earrings are approximately 3/4 diameter, earring wires are sterling silver. Hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind. Signed on the back.
Tear-Shaped Copper Top and Silver Pendant
Highly polished copper and silver balance one another as the warmth of rich copper softly dips in with its concave shape with cool silver acts as copper’s base. This piece is very tactile, the shape is inviting to touch.
The rich reds and purples of the copper are drawn out by highly heating it. I never know exactly how the copper will look before I heat it, though that is the beauty of the process. This once reminds me of the rich colors of a southwestern sunset.
Hollow form, hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind. Signed on the back. Approximately an inch tall by about 3/4 inches wide. Shown with a 7-strand black omega necklace.
Brushed Silver with Vine Shadowbox
A vine-shaped line cuts through brushed silver and opens at the top of the pendant, revealing the necklace that slides through the hollow form. Organic open line marries smooth modern shape.
I’m really excited about this piece! A new direction! It’d one of the new pieces featured at the Eiteljorg Museum show.
Approximately 2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide. 1/4 inch deep. Entirely hand-crafted. Shown here with a 5-strand, 16″ silver omega necklace. Signed on the back.
