Trinity – Part 3

Trinity – Part 3

The inner part of the Trinity is a shadowbox pendant with a rounded brushed copper top with a pearl nestled in its opening. Both the pearl and the copper have a sheen that almost glows.

A lovely standout piece on it’s own. The combination of copper, silver and pearl is captivating. As the copper matures, its color will deepen and shift as it responds to its environment.

A truly organic piece.

The copper inner shadowbox pendant is 1/2 inch wide and 1 1/4 inches long, and fits inside of the silver outer pendant. Both are about 1/4 inch deep. Shown with a 7-strand 16″ silver omega necklace.

Trinity – Part 2

Trinity – Part 2

Fine polished silver makes up the outer hollow form of the Trinity pendant. The piece is gorgeous without the inner pendant as well, and may be worn on its own for a completely different look.

The chain that passes through the pendant can be seen, showing the process of how the piece is strung.

Modern, clean line. Stunning!

This part of the Trinity is approximately 1 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches long and about 1/4 inch deep. The back of the pendant is signed on brushed silver. Shown with a 7-strand 16″ silver omega necklace.

Trinity

A polished fine silver hollow form embraces a separate satin-finished copper-topped shadowbox with a pearl in this stunning, bold and very feminine piece. Flowing shapes and differing textures and materials are visually and tactilely appealing. The outer pendant is flat and smooth while the inner copper and silver pendant is buffed with a rounded, convex surface. As the copper on the inner pendant matures, it will respond to the environment and its color will shift and deepen.

I call this Trinity because two pieces come together to make the third unique piece. Each piece may be worn individually for three distinctly different effects. Stay tuned for each form to be posted as individual pendants in parts 2 and 3.

Altogether, the two pendants as a whole are approximately 1 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches long. The copper inner shadowbox pendant is 1/2 inch wide and 1 1/4 inches long, and fits inside of the silver outer pendant. Both are about 1/4 inch deep. The back of the pendant is signed on brushed silver. Shown with a 7-strand 16″ silver omega necklace.

Approximately 5/8 inch diameter, 1/4 inch deep. Hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind. Signed along the edge. Shown here with a 5-strand 16″ black omega necklace. Matagi Sorensen signature design.

Silver, Copper, and Turquoise Pendant

Silver, Copper, and Turquoise Pendant

Copper tops a fine silver and turquoise shadowbox pendant. The copper is heated to intensify its color, a process which creates intense variations in the color that are not entirely predictable. The stone has natural striations of browns, golds, and blues in it as well – making this a very unique piece. Fluid organic line in the “shadow” coupled with copper highlight the stone beautifully.

Hand-crafted, hollow form, one-of-a-kind. Signature style. Approximately two inches long and a quarter inch deep. Signed on the back.

Mokume, Silver and Turquoise Shadowbox Pendant

Mokume, Silver and Turquoise Shadowbox Pendant

I am loving working with mokume lately. I just love the patterns that have been coming out of the recent bit of mokume I made. The circles and swirls of copper and silver are so thrilling to me – and as the copper matures, it will shift and deepen in color as well. Organic line combined with my signature style shadowbox with turquoise.

Very clean turquoise stone against black and intense mokume patterning. Stunning chance!

Entirely hand-made. One-of-a-kind. Fine silver, copper, and turquoise. Approximately 2 1/4 inches long by 1/2 inch wide, 1/4 inch deep. Signed on the back.
