Pueblo Grande Museum Indian Market – this weekend!

Pueblo Grand Museum Indian Market logoI’ll be exhibiting at the Indian Market this weekend! Juried show! Find unique pieces for the holidays. Visit me and check out my new work.

I was at this show last year, and the site is beautiful. There is something relaxing about the desert this time of year. The light and the colors are soft, and they shift throughout the day. The earth is almost a golden wheat color, with shades of pinks and purples and deep oranges that shift throughout the day.

The Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary is proud to host the 37th Annual Indian Market on December 14 & 15, 2013. The market will offer an array of activities for children and adults, including exceptional American Indian Music and dance, a variety of native foods, sweet and savory fry bread, other treats and authentic American Indian fine art, collectibles and cultural exhibits. A perfect place for last minute holiday shopping.

Pueblo Grand Museum Kick-Off EventA new feature has been added to this year’s market, Ki:him – community village where cultural demonstrations and presentations will take place, providing guests with hands on access to everyday activities past and present and opportunities to interact and learn about the culture through storytelling, music, song, dance, games and native foods. Ki:him is the O’odham word for community village. While representatives of the four Southern communities of the O’odham people, descendants of the ancient Hohokam will be participating in the Ki:him, there will also be artists and representatives from various other tribes participating in the community village as well.

Come to the 37th Annual Pueblo Grande Museum Indian Market it’s a perfect place for last minute holiday shopping and a great opportunity to learn more about American Indian history and culture, past and present.

Juried Exhibit This Weekend! Indian Art Market

museum of natural history utahI will be in Salt Lake City this weekend showing my work at the Natural History Museum of Utah – Canyon in Salt Lake City.  I’m really excited about this show, and a little nervous because I think I’m going to be driving through snow for twelve hours!

“Celebrate native arts and culture at the Natural History Museum of Utah. The Indian Art Market is a juried show featuring the work of regional native artists. Over 20 selected artists will display and sell their original work ranging from jewelry, beadwork, sculpture, painting and more. Meet the artists, learn about contemporary Indian arts and tribal culture and take home something new and unique to add to your collection.”

October 12 & 13, 2013: Indian Art Market, Natural History Museum of Utah at the Rio Tinto Center of The University of Utah, 301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, Utah

This is huge! I just found out that I have been invited to participate in 2013 Heard Museum Guild Indian Market and Fair.

The Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market is “a world-acclaimed festival that draws nearly 20,000 visitors and more than 700 of the nation’s most outstanding and successful American Indian artists.”

To say that I’m excited is an understatement!

The fair is happening on:

Phoenix, Arizona 85004

From the Heard Museum’s Website:

Experience one of the Southwest’s largest and most prestigious events: the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market.

This year’s theme: “Weaving Worlds with Wool,” a celebration of the weaver’s art. The Indian Fair features more than 700 top American Indian artists.
