Faceted amethyst nestled in polished fine silver is simply beautiful.
The shadowbox technique is popular in Native American jewelry. I’ve been having fun creating these bead pendants using the shadowbox technique with various stones and metals. The hollow form allows for the chain to pass through the piece without interrupting the flow of the shape.
May be worn as a pendant, or strung as a bead.
Amethyst is the birthstone for February, and it is connected with wisdom, intuition, psychic dreams, and sobriety. Purple is associated with royalty and power.
Hand-crafted, hollow form. Signed.

This piece is entirely hand crafted. It is hammered to form an anticlastic curve, which has been left open. The inside of the curve is reddened through heat and then highly polished. The outside is left matte for contrast.
